“God rests within gentle hearts.”
~St. John Climacus
Jerusalem and Padriac’s Nashville wedding came right as the pandemic settled into our area. There was a sea of unrest all around the wedding industry, among many other areas of our lives. You know. You’ve walked this walk, too. So much change. So much unknown. So much fear. But these two… well, these two continued into their plans with grace, patience, and calm. And that gentle nature poured over to each of us that participated in their beautiful wedding day.
The Ceremony | St Ignatius Antiochian Church, Franklin
The crowd was smaller than anticipated. Family, is what I’m told, was all that was able to attend. The new COVID-19 guidelines made large gatherings next to impossible, not to mention very dangerous. But, like so many other weddings I’ve photographed through this strange season we are living through, it was the perfect amount of people that brought the most sincerity, love and support to this special day. I love a church wedding. They are not as frequent as they use to be, so, I was over-the-top excited to be celebrating this day in such a gorgeous space.
Now, when I say it was all family that attended, I really mean it. Jerusalem’s father is the priest of this church and performed the marriage. The incredible a cappella choir? All family. The bridal party… you guessed it. Family. ❤️ What glory to be surrounded by so many family members and their gifts.
The Reception | Garden Style Reception, Nashville
There really isn’t anything sweeter than a homestyle wedding reception, complete with a homemade wedding cake, a family-style dinner spread, and the heirloom china as the place setting. The kindest, most gentle details surrounded this couple on their wedding day. But my favorite part of the reception? Jerusalem’s father’s curtsy as they finished the daddy-daughter dance. 🥰
I am grateful to have been part of this beautiful family’s celebration. Many, many wishes for joy!
