Weddings: Big Exit Ideas That Don’t Involve Sparklers | Williamsburg Wedding Photographer

Hi friends!

When it comes to wedding planning, I find that my couples spend the majority of their time scheming the perfect entrances to their ceremonies and reception celebrations, but few really dig deeply into their big exits.

This moment is the grand finale of your wedding! For that reason alone, I think it deserves a little bit more attention. Sparklers are the go-to move these days when it comes to photogenic walkouts, but I must say that I love when my couples get a little bit more creative for the final scenes of their big days.

Below are five big exit ideas that don’t involve sparklers (or any open flames, for that matter).

Bubbles

If having little flecks of fire flying in your direction fills you with anxiety, consider bubbles instead. They are perfectly harmless, they create a pretty iridescent shine when photographed, and all of your guests will have a blast making as many as possible as you and your partner glide by. What’s more, you can use them for both day and night exits, so no matter the timing of your wedding, you can enjoy the breathtaking exit you desire.

Biodegradable Balloons

If you’re after an epid black-and-white photograph, think about handing white biodegradable balloons to your guests in lieu of sparklers. They glow in an otherworldly kind of way in images, and a staggered release makes it look as though your entire celebration is protected by a magical floating halo. Not to mention, did you know that biodegradable balloons break down at the same rate as an oak leaf? That’s right — even the environment will thank you for this pick.

Ribbon Wands

If you’re all about flow and movement, give ribbon wands a try! They look like fancy streamers without all of the mess, and they give your guests a chance to show a little bit of their own creativity as they wave you on to your getaway car. Plus, you have the creative freedom to match the ribbon colors to your wedding theme or keep them a classic wedding white satin.

Fiber Optic Wands

All the sparkler vibes with none of the downsides! Fiber optic wands are an awesome choice for beach weddings or any windy locale that makes catching a flame a difficult task. Not to mention, there is zero risk of anyone getting injured by a rogue spark. Many couples even customize the handles with their names or a wedding hashtag, making them an excellent party favor as well.

Flower Petals

Such a classic and elegant choice! You can connect with your florist to source plenty of these pretty petals for all of your guests, and you have them ready in one basket for everyone to share or prepare pretty little satchets for each individual guest. As long as your wedding coordinator queues everyone with the right toss timing, you will end up with some unforgettable images that capture those final moments of your wedding celebration.

Hello there!  Sarah here!
Thank you for taking time to stop in.  I am excited to hear more about your journey and how I might best serve you.

I am wrapping up my 18th year as a branding specialist, photographer and business coach. “You Did Not Wake-up Today to Be Mediocre” is the motto in our home. And, I do my best to live with genuine Faith and excitement in what is present at any given moment!

I have an affinity to all things light and airy.  I love color, sunshine, romance, and laughter.  I love inspirational quotes, meeting new people, flowers, and the idea of finishing a great book.  My go-to drink is coffee.  My outlet is running.  And, aallllll of my free time is spent with my amazing crew.  I love relationships and tend to love really, really big.

I am grateful for this unpredictable, exciting, emotional career full of people like you.  Connections with others and the creation of awesome outcomes are my number one work priority.  I am so glad that you’ve stopped by and are looking around.  I’m not certain that we’ve even met.  But, I can tell you that I am already entirely excited about working with and serving you.
