Branding is a strategy. Period.
And, it can be a reason why a business excels or is left behind.
While there is a tremendous amount of knowledge that goes into a brand, there are several mistakes that I see on a regular basis that are easy to avoid.
Let’s Go!
01. Not sticking to your brand colors or fonts.
You cannot expect to build a strong brand or
brand recognition with your audience if you
are not consistent with your brand colors,
fonts, + other visuals.
Repetition
+ Consistency
= Trust, Bookings, + Sales
02. Not using photos that match your brand.
Branding goes beyond your colors, font + logo.
It extends to your brand photography, the experience your provide your client, your communicated tone and personality. Stop using cheesy stock images. Invest in fresh, modern, custom photos taken by a professional.
03. Not using your branding across ALL touchpoints.
Branding isn’t meant for making a few social media graphics here and there. Your branding should be used on all marketing material, your website, social media, print + digital ads, your storefront- EVERYWHERE.
Your brand should be felt in all touchpoints of your business.
04. Not investing in professional labels + packaging.
Your product packaging is one of the first impressions your client receives. Your labels/packaging should look the part! Humans are visual creatures. We are far more inclined to purchase a product that looks good. Not to mention, you cannot expect to charge high-end prices if the look + experience does
not match.
05. Designing your brand based on personal preference.
Most of the time, your brand is a reflection of you. And, of course, your branding should reflect just that. But, the mistake business
owners make is to brand based solely on their preferences without any research about their target audience. Remember- your not selling to yourself. Market to your client.
If you resonate with any of these, don’t get discouraged! You went into business to do what you’re best at, and I’m guessing that it wasn’t branding! 😊
If you need help with your branding, whether that’s establishing your brand for the first time, branding photography or redesigning your current branding, I’d love to work with you this fall!
